Arc'teryx are a company located in the middle of the Coast Mountains in Canada. It is located in one of the least populated wilderness regions on this planet. This allows the team to test their products right outside their door. It's like Dan Green, VP of design, says: "the design centre is where things get built, but all of the inspiration, all of the problems that need to be solved are out in the mountains".
Arc'teryx was founded in 1991 with the idea of creating a new standard in climbing harnesses, specific clothing and sports bags. Today you could say they achieved their goal. The climbing scene has been conquered, no matter where you look you will see athletes hanging in their harnesses, wearing their functional clothes and traveling through the world with their backpacks.
Some of the best mountaineer athletes such as Alannah Yip, who won seven total Senior National Titles (3 Lead, 3 Boulder, 1 Speed) or Adam Campbell who is a three times Guinness World record Holder and world championship medalist, wear and swear on Arc'teryx. Sometimes these athletes go as far as risking their lives on mountain adventures but do so wearing Arc'teryx's perfectly designed gear. Simultaneously, feedback is given to the company after climbers and mountaineers get back to ground safely, allowing Arc'teryx to continuously improve their product line.
