A category redefining shoe, the Veloce Wmn flips the script on the mainstream narrative of what the contemporary climber needs for their progression through the grades.
Scarpa listened, watched and learned, and what became clear was that far from the stiff, flat, neutral and unresponsive climbing shoes historically pushed on developing climbers, the modern arena of the 21s century climbing gym - unquestionably the gateway into the sport for the largest proportion of new climbers - required a model poles apart.
Slightly asymmetrical, slightly downturned, with a punchy toe box and soft midsole the Veloce Wmn harnesses a design and materials which make for an adaptive, super sensitive shoe, perfectly in tune with the dynamic style and friction based movement which now adorns the walls of climbing gyms the world over.
Starting with an entirely new last - purpose built to amplify the attributes of this modern style - we applied just the right amount of tension to a panelled Lorenzi microfibre upper to give a strong compressive feel, while maintaining unprecedented comfort for such a technically capable model. For the outer rand and toe box upper, we used our adaptable and ultra sticky M50 rubber, mounted aloft 4mm of S72 outsole rubber - a sole specifically designed to give THE best traction on indoor surfaces and fine grained rock types.
Initially developed as a progression model, the true brilliance of the Veloce Wmn is that it is now seen as an ability spanning shoe, enjoyed in equal measure by beginners and competition climbers across the globe.
The Women's version offers a lower volume and slightly narrower fit.
